hi everyone............sorry but I will not be in class tonight.  I've been hit all of the sudden with what feels like the flu!  And I'm sure no one wants to catch it.  Both my boys had it not that long ago, so it only figures I would get it at some point.

Well, my project is going to be on finding your Zodiac sign and its characteristics.  The user will enter their birth date and then will have the option of either getting just their sign and name or getting those plus the characteristics that go along with their sign.

Depending upon how I do coding THAT and getting it to work, I may get daring and access a web site that would give the user their monthly horoscope.

Ok, I have two questions.  First I've got the first part of lab 3 completed.  The only issue is that I can not get the message box to show when a non-numeric number is entered.  Did that loop ever work?  I did not work through the original code prior to changing it.  If it never worked in the first place, that would be a good thing to know.  If it did work straightout, then I goofed somewhere and I would need to know that too.

Also, for assignment 3 - which I've started - and this may seem like a stupid question, but how do I make and design the second design screen that will hold the final results?  I really have no clues.

Well my youngest son stopped over and downloaded the program for me.  So I am finally in!!  It seems that I got several "extra" CDs that were mistakeningly sent to me - hence the confusion on my part.

I have begun working on Lab #1 and am now stuck.  So what else is new.  Even though I have read through chapter 4 (yes only chapter 4) I just don't get how to code the buttons in this first lab like we are supposed to.  I know for some of you it is very simplistic, but for me it is not.

I know I have asked for help below and obviously no one blogs during the weekend as no one contacted me.  If by chance anyone does see this blog......and can help me - please see the email address listed below to contact me.  Thanks.  And yes I did unzip the solution to lab 1 but it did not help me at all.  Besides I want to know how to do it.

I don't know what kind of weather you are getting at the moment, but it is raining like crazy here (West Bend) and freezing to the trees, sidewalks and roads.  Not a fun day to be driving.

I really need someone - anyone - to help me.  I've received the CDs for Visual Studio (there are 14 of them!) but when I tried to run the SQL Native Client Installation Wizard this is the message I get:  This installation package is not supported by this processor type.

How do I get this fixed and finish installing the program?  Right now I am so frustrated with this program and class that I am ready to drop.  My partner and driving buddy Jenifer has already dropped due to her frustration and I am not far behind.

The only reason why I'm in this class is because it is required.  Otherwise I would not be here.  I understand the concepts of Visual Basic as it seems very user friendly, but I have very little programming knowledge and have no desire to program - programming is not where my knowledge lies.

Visual Basic arrived in the mail yesterday.  Yippee!  Hopefully it will download without a hitch and I can actually go into the program and do some work this weekend.
